Self-care Re(s/v)olution

We can all agree that the past few years have taken a toll on our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. While the thought of making resolutions can seem futile after all the turmoil of 2021, don’t discount the power of introspection and taking some much needed “me” time for a calmer, revitalized approach into the New Year.

Here’s to making and keeping a self-care re(s/v)olution:

1) Don’t start with goals, start with intentions. Ultimately the resolutions we make are all an effort to feel something very specific. What is it that you want to feel? Peace, loved, confidence, strength, creativity? Get clear on that and then move to the next step.

2) Forget 2022, what is the larger vision you have for yourself? When you think about it, goals and resolutions are really just a way to strengthen the relationship you have with yourself. This doesn’t start in 2022 and certainly won’t end there either. So ask yourself: who do you want to be, and who do you want to be for yourself? When you plan from a place of attunement supported by clarity of how you want to feel, then your goals become rituals instead of resolutions and your actions become a dance with yourself rather than a test of pass or fail.

3) Lastly, there’s always integrity. Integrity is doing what you say you're going to do. I hope that now you have a deeper understanding of the things you say you are going to do and why. (Accomplishing a goal means nothing if you aren’t emotionally and spiritually connected to it). With that said, just feeling it and not following through won’t get you too far either. So, now that you know your “why”, what’s the plan? Make sure that it is sourced from that very sacred place of how you want to feel and who you want to be. By doing this, your “goals” will feel less like a to do list and more like an offering to yourself.
